Shared excitement: The Multiplayer Session that made the Spain–France wait fly by

Hundreds of people gathered around a giant screen to play in the build-up to the World Cup semifinal

Romà Rofes August 4, 2026

A giant screen, a packed court and more than 200 people with their phones in hand. That’s how, a few weeks ago at the Revellín court in Logroño (Spain), we ran a live Multiplayer Session right before the Spain–France semifinal of the football World Cup.

One single game and plenty of the best kind of noise: the sound of shared excitement. Here’s what happened.

A giant screen and a community

The crowd had come to watch the semifinal on the big screen, a public screening organized by the Logroño City Council and by the Junior Ultimate World Championship that was being held in the city those days. The stands already shared something: the eagerness to watch the match and cheer for Spain.

Right before kickoff we took over the screen for a few minutes, and during that game the crowd gathered around Educaplay too.

Among the players there were even athletes from the Ultimate World Championship, of several nationalities, all sharing the same game from their phones.

A large crowd seated at the Revellín court in Logroño facing a giant screen showing an Educaplay quiz question about the football World Cups.

Question after question, the same spark

The questions were all about the history of the football World Cups — right in tune with the match everyone was waiting for — and each one lit the same spark: that «I know this one!» that pushes you to answer fast before the point slips away. With the live ranking, the court lit up with cheers of pure excitement amid laughter, hurry and a shared thrill.

The sooner you got it right, the more points you scored, so every second counted.

The joy of making the podium

In just 15 minutes, from the first question to the prize-giving, we had a full game. The top ten took home a neck fan for the heat; the top three also got their trophy.

When the final podium appeared came the best image of the day: the satisfaction on the winners’ faces and a round of applause that celebrated everyone.

The cheering, this time of pure celebration, went up another notch. The contest was the perfect way to liven up the wait — and for many, the time flew by. We filmed it all, and these photos and videos tell it better than any words.

Four participants smile as they pose with numbered wooden Educaplay trophies and neck fans, with the court crowd in the background.

Thank you to everyone who made it happen

Thanks to the Junior Ultimate World Championship in Logroño for opening up their screen, and to the 200+ people who jumped in to play.

Since we launched Multiplayer Sessions in late May, more than 100,000 players have tried them across 12,000 sessions created by 7,000 users. But seeing them live, with a crowd and that energy, was the best way to celebrate.

New: now it works without a shared screen too

Our Logroño event needed a giant screen, but that’s no longer a must.

You can now run Multiplayer Sessions even when players can’t see a shared screen: perfect if the game is virtual, if you’re not in the same place, or if the screen is too far away (or there just isn’t a big one).

The live contest now fits any setting. New to them? Here’s how Multiplayer Sessions work.
